We survived snowmageddon!
43 Politics students and 3 members of staff were stranded in Washington DC last week when their flight home was cancelled due to heavy snow storms.
It was President Barack Obama who dubbed the heavy snow fall that paralysed America's east coast "Snowmageddon" and the group managed to get a glimpse of his motorcade during their prolonged stay.
Luckily they were able to extend their stay at the Hotel Harrington, which is based in the centre of Washington DC and while some of their extra time there was spent touring the city's museums, they also braved the freezing temperatures to play in the snow.
This annual trip to Washington DC is organized thanks to links between the College department head Mark Barrett and Congressman Rush Holt so students are able to visit places not normally available to members of the public, including the White House, Capitol Building and the Supreme Court.
