accommodation

Students who require accommodation will be placed with a host family

Host family accommodation, that is living with a UK family, is arranged by the College. Payment will be required for the cost of the lodgings (rent, food and heat). The cost per week will vary but is likely to be around £100. The charge may vary each year. This will include half-board (breakfast and evening meal) on weekdays and full board at weekends. The payments will be made directly to the host family.

It is worth noting that Stockton area is much cheaper in terms of rent and living costs than many areas of the UK, especially those areas closer to London. The charges for accommodation may increase during the student’s course. This will depend on the host family.

In addition to support from the host family, 24 hour welfare support is provided through emergency contact numbers, including provision of a Chinese speaker as required. The College will find and check suitable home-stay accommodation including health and safety checks. The College will collect students from Durham Tees Valley Airport/English at York and return on departure. The College will introduce students to their home-stay accommodation and provide a one day induction and welfare programme.
