GCSE Science - Applied

This course follows on from all GCSE sciences, to look at the three sciences in one subject block.

The course involves a wide range of activities: lectures, discussions, practical work, group work and investigations.  However, the emphasis is less on exams and more on practical work, individual study and research.  Importantly all this work will be set in a vocational context.  The course has equal amounts of Biology, Chemistry and Physics at GCSE.  There is a significant amount of coursework.

Three units will be studied:

Science in the workplace (20% of course mark)

Science at work (40% of course mark)

Using scientific skills (40% of course mark)
