What can you expect to happen after you have sent in your application?
As soon as we receive your application form we will send you an acknowledgement:
by e-mail if you sent an on-line application and gave your e-mail address
or by post if you sent a paper application or did not give your e-mail address
The next step will be to invite you for an interview which will be very informal, but will give you an opportunity to ask any questions about college or courses, and for us to give you additional guidance if necessary.
This interview may take place at your school during the school day, or in College after school.
After your interview, you will be offered a place at college, subject to the required grades being achieved at GCSE.
There is a Course Information Evening in March to which you and your parents are welcome to attend. This is another opportunity for you to find out more about the College and courses and to meet and chat to staff.
Towards the end of the summer term you will be invited to come into college for our Introductory Days - a chance to sample subjects, meet staff and obtain more information
Enrolment takes place at the end of August after you have received your GCSE results. This is when you confirm the subjects you would like to take and accept your place at college.
After enrolment and before full-time teaching starts around the second week in September, you will usually come into college on two occasions for tutorial sessions. This is when you will be given lots of information, your student planner and timetable etc ready for the start of year.
