The Advanced Level pass rate was 96%, with a Vocational pass rate of 98.3%. There were 23 subjects with 100% pass rate. Well done to all our students.

Hannah Conlin, David Cooper and Kevin Dieu came to College from Our Lady and St. Bede School.
Hannah studied French (A), English Language (A) and English Literature (B). She took part in the exchange visit to Aix-en-Provence and intends to study French at Manchester University.
"You will have a lot of fun at College, but you also have to work hard and keep up with the work."
David studied Law (A), History (B), Sociology (A) and Psychology (A) as well as Critical Thinking. He will study Law at Durham University and hopes to become a solicitor.
"I have most enjoyed meeting lots of new and interesting friends as well as growing myself as a person."
Kevin studied Maths (A), Chemistry (B), Geography (A) and AS Further Maths (A). He took part in the Geography visit to New York and has acted as a maths mentor for other students in College. Kevin hopes to study Maths at Warwick University.
"I have really enjoyed the flexibility offered by the College and would advise future students to work hard and have fun!."

Phil Ross and Philip Swash joined College from St. Michael's School.
Phil studied Maths (A), Law (A), Economics (A) and Critical Thinking (A). He played for the successful football B team and is taking Economics at Durham University.
"Make the most of your time at college - I have really enjoyed the laughs with new friends."
Philip studied Travel and Tourism (C), Geography (E) and Law (D). He took part in both the Barcelona and New York visits whilst at college and was one of 6 student judges at the Teesside Business Awards. Philip completed a 10-week work experience in a hotel in Barcelona as part of his college course and plans to follow a career in the travel industry.
"I have enjoyed meeting different types of people and making lots of new friends."

Marc Stephenson came to College from Blakeston School to study the BTEC Sport and Exercise Science course. He captained the college rugby team and his attitude, work rate and initiative led him to win a BTEC course prize. Marc is continuing to work coaching able and disabled children, and hopes for a career in the Police Force.
"The whole group quickly became good friends and there was always help available from the friendly staff. I will miss the unbeatable facilities but a college is nothing without brilliant students."

Stacey Burke came to College from Northfield School and Liam Murray joined us from the Norton School.
Stacey studied Psychology (B), Business Studies (B), Law (B) and Critical Thinking (C). She took part in the visit to Prague with the Business department and hopes to study Psychology at the University of Northumbria.
"Enjoy the experience while you can. The time flies by and before you know it you're preparing for your final exams."
Liam studied Maths (B), Media Studies (C), English Language (C) and AS Further Maths (C). He acted as a maths mentor and will study Maths at University. Liam then hopes to join the RAF after obtaining his Maths degree.
"Work hard from the start, complete all homework well before the deadline and if you don't understand something, ASK."

Philip Wright and Kate Kennedy came to College from Grangefield School.
Philip studied French (A), Spanish (A), Maths (A) and Economics (B). He took part in the exchange visits to Aix-en-Provence and Madrid and attended many University masterclasses. Philip was successful in securing a place at St. Catherine's College Cambridge to read French and Spanish and hopes to work in international finance as a future career.
"My advice to all new students is to be open to new experiences - I have learnt new skills at college which I will value for the rest of my life."
Kate studied Art and Design (A), Design and Technology (B) and ICT (B). She took part in the visit to New York with the Art department and achieved 100% in each AS unit in that subject. Kate plans to study an art foundation course before progressing on to a degree course in Fine Art at Newcastle University.
"I have really enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends and see new countries. My advice to anyone thinking of continuing their education after GCSE's would be to go for it - but only if you're prepared to work hard."

Ben Wright and Sindhu Krishna joined us from Grangefield School.
Ben studied Law (A), French (A), Maths (A), Further Maths (A), Spanish AS (B) and Critical Thinking (A). He took part in the language exchanges to Aix-en-Provence and Madrid and gained one of only 10 highly sought after places to study English Law and French Law at King's College London and the Sorbonne in Paris.
"I will remember Stockton Sixth Form College for the really exceptional teachers who do more than just teach, and would advise year 11 pupils to always aim higher than you think you can achieve."
Sindhu studied Biology (C), Chemistry (C), Physics (D) and Maths (C). She was always willing to help out at College events such as open evenings and the drama production. Sindhu is studying Biomedical Sciences at University.
"If you are looking for fun as well as excellent study opportunities, then this is the right college for you."

Michael Bertram, Andrew Atterton and Sarah Simpson have all been at College for three years. After taking a one-year programme to improve their qualifications they then progressed on to Advanced Level courses.
Michael studied ICT (BC), Design and Technology (D) and AS Business Studies (E). He took part in a project with NHL Engineering as part of his course as well as teaching animation to a group of school children. Michael is following a career in design engineering.
"Never underestimate yourself; you never know what you're capable of until you try."
Andrew studied Chemistry (C), Biology (C) and ICT (B). After successfully taking five GCSE resits, he continued his hard work and determination in the Advanced Level course. Andrew is studying Biomedical Sciences at Newcastle University.
Sarah studied Maths (D), Law (B) and Religious Studies (C). She took part in the visit to London and always contributed to the life of the College, helping out at open evenings, quiz nights and the drama production. Sarah hopes to become a Primary School teacher.
"I have met some great people at College, not just students but staff too. They treat you as an individual and an adult - I now understand what independence really is."

Catherine Gibson, Philip Newton and Samantha Stokes came to College from Thornaby Community School.
Catherine studied Biology (C), Chemistry (C), Physics (C), History (B) and Critical Thinking. She always helped with college activities and studied the biodiversity of butterflies as part of her work experience. Catherine is taking Biomedical Sciences at University.
"I have enjoyed being treated like an adult and learning in a comfortable environment."
Philip studied History (B), Psychology (B), English Literature (D) and Art and Design (B). He took part in the visit to New York and is studying History at Northumbria University.
"I have enjoyed meeting the many different people who I would not have met if I hadn't come here."
Samantha studied Maths (A), English Language (A), Psychology (A) and AS Further Maths (A). She took part in the senior maths challenge and acted as amaths mentor in her time at College. Samantha is studying Accounting and Finance at Durham University.
"Be prepared to work hard but the fun you'll have and the friends you'll make will stay with you for life."

Anthony Rookes and Louise Mason came to College from Blakeston School.
Anthony studied Economics (B), Maths (C), Physics (B), Geography (A) and AS Critical Thinking (B). He took part in fieldwork in Teesdale and visits to Castle Eden planetarium as part of his course as well as playing 5-a-side football within the enrichment programme. Anthony is studying International Business at Lancaster University.
"I loved the relaxed atmosphere, being able to have a laugh in lessons whilst still learning and getting the work done. If you want a great social life combined with top class teaching, then Stockton sixth form is for you."
Louise studied Health and Social Care (BC) with AS Human Biology and English Language (C). She took part in fieldwork activities as part of her course and worked hard fund-raising for animal welfare as part of her enrichment activity. Louise is studying Social Work at Teesside University.
"My time at college has been one of the best experiences of my life so far. The friendly teachers soon put you at your ease - I have felt respected, encouraged and supported by them every step of the way."

Claire Nugent, Kyle Woodhouse, Natasha Hamer, Jennie Donkin and Samaira Ayub all joined us from Ian Ramsey School.
Claire studied English Language (A), English Literature (C), Psychology (C), Art and Design (B) and Critical Thinking (B). She took part in the visit to New York and took a lead role in the work of the animal welfare enrichment group. Claire is studying English at Newcastle University and hopes to become an English teacher.
"Work hard and play hard to get the most out of your college experience."
Kyle studied Politics (D), Law (C) and Physics. He took part in the Politics visit to Washington DC and played in the college rugby team. Kyle hopes to join the police force after a year of travel.
"Try to make friends with as many new people as you can during your time at college."
Natasha studied Theatre Studies and Drama (B), Sociology (B) and English Language (D). She had key roles in the college production in both her first and second year at college and hopes for a career in drama in the future. Natasha is studying Sociology at Durham University.
"The college has a wonderful mix of people who instantly make you feel accepted."
Jennie studied Geography (A), Geology (A), Politics (A) and Critical Thinking (B). She took part in the Politics visit to Washington DC and played a role in the young enterprise group organising various college events. Jennie is at St. Chad's College, Durham studying Geography.
"My advice would be to take subjects that you have an interest in - the trip to Washington was a brilliant experience. I have really enjoyed making new friends in a very friendly atmosphere."
Samaira studied Business Studies (B), ICT (A), Maths (D), English Language (C) and Critical Thinking (D). She helped out at college open evenings and completed a first aid course as her enrichment activity. Samaira is at Durham University studying Accounting and Finance.
"I have really enjoyed the independence and making new friends from different schools."

Lauren Grainger and Tiegan Booth came to College from St. Michael's School.
Lauren studied Art and Design (A), Design and Technology (A) and Theatre Studies and Drama (C). She plans a career in Art and Design and is studying a foundation course at art college.
Tiegan studied Sports Studies (B), Psychology (B), Law (B) and English Literature (C). She was a member of the college hockey team as well as taking part in aerobics and salsa dancing within the enrichment programme. Tiegan is studying Sports Science at Leeds University and hopes to join the RAF as training officer in the future.
"All the staff are very friendly and it's enjoyable working in an environment with students your own age."

Mohsan Latif studied Business Studies (BC) and Religious Studies (B). He progressed onto Advanced Business Studies after having been successful on the one-year intermediate course. Mohsan organised charity events in college to help the earthquake victims in Pakistan.

Kayleigh Connell joined College from Bishopsgarth School. She studied Health and Social Care (AB), Psychology (B) and AS Biology (C). Kayleigh did work experience at James Cook and St. Luke's hospitals in occupational therapy and is now taking a degree course in this subject at Teesside University.
"I have enjoyed taking new subjects from those taken at school - make the most of your time at college as the time flies by."

Shane Hassall came to College from Egglescliffe School and Jodi Kirton joined us from Billingham Campus.
Shane studied Art and Design (B), Sports Studies (B), Psychology (D) and AS Sociology (E). He took part in the visit to New York with the Art department and won a gold medal at the British Colleges National Swimming finals in 2006. Shane is studying Sports Science at Teesside University and hopes to become a PE teacher.
"Do all your work on time, listen to the advice of the teachers and you'll succeed."
Jodi studied Art and Design (A), Design and Technology (C) and ICT (D). She took part in the visit to Disneyland Paris with the ICT department and New York with Art. She also played for the college netball team. Jodi is studying Art and Design at University and hopes for a career in interior design.
"I'd advise anyone to go to college - it is a fantastic experience with new people to meet, new places to visit and new skills to learn."
