Extra support with your learning

The Study Skills Support Service has a team of two tutors and two teaching assistants who support students both in and out of class, throughout the full range of courses offered at the college.  They also assist in making the transition from school to college a positive one.

Before you enrol at College we can offer:
• Information on the support available to you
• An assessment of your personal support needs

Once you are on the course, we can offer:
• Academic support in and out of the classroom
• Specialist support, dealing with the development of communication, numeracy, ICT skills, English for speakers of other languages, help for dyslexic students etc. Help is provided on small group and/or on a one-to-one basis

Examination arrangements:
If you qualify for extra time in exams, we ask the Examining Body in advance to consider and agree to any special arrangements.

The learning support team includes Diane Robinson (Learner Support Manager), Dave Allen and two teaching assistants: Jackie Arthur and Sue Brown.

If you wish to discuss your learning needs, please e-mail studyskills@stocktonsfc.ac.uk
