Stockton Sixth Form College is currently undertaking a consultation process in relation to a significant alteration to the existing timetable model in order to introduce a revised structure for September 2019. At present, all subjects are delivered across a 4 day programme, with each Friday (Focused Friday) available for students to utilise for independent study, work experience or placements , volunteering or other related activities. In light of the significant changes to the linearity of both A Level and Applied General qualifications (BTECs), as well as the inclusion of compulsory examined elements to all Level 3 courses, the college is seeking to maximise the opportunities for our students to study in college, with the availability of subject specialists to support them across the full week.

The proposed change to a 5 day timetable will provide our students with a greater capacity to develop the dedicated learning habits required to succeed in the increasingly challenging environment of further education. The college leadership are in the process of consulting with students, staff and parents to review potential timetable models with a view to conclude this process by the end of the Autumn term 2018.
