What does the course consist of?

Our Level 3 BTEC Construction course is the ideal choice for students wishing to progress onto university to study architecture, construction or engineering or for those wishing to progress on to an apprenticeship in the sector at the end of their studies.

This course focuses on the technical side of construction and the course units cover all aspects and fields of construction engineering. Over the two years you will study a wide range of units which will provide a broad experience and deep understanding of a variety of topics, including:

  • Computer Modelling
  • Architectural Drawing
  • Building Surveying
  • Construction Design
  • Health and Safety in Construction
  • Graphical Detailing in Construction (CAD and Manual Techniques)
  • Building Regulations and Control in Construction.

How is this course assessed?

•             The majority of work will be coursework
•             You will take 1 exam during the first year.

What might this course lead on to?

The course is equivalent to 3 A Levels and worth up to 420 UCAS points (equivalent to 3 A* grades)

Students who complete the course can progress on to: university, studying a specific engineering or construction discipline, as well as gaining opportunities for employment and apprenticeships.
