Why study Level 2?
Here at Stockton Sixth Form College, we offer a Foundation Studies Programme at a number of different levels. The Level 2 programme is aimed at young people who would like to move on to further study, a job or an apprenticeship but do not have enough qualifications at GCSE level to do so. It is designed to give you the confidence, self-belief and skills you need to move on with your life. You will improve your English and maths, gain additional qualifications at GCSE level and gain valuable employability skills.
Our class sizes are small, and you will study in a relaxed, friendly and supportive atmosphere. We can provide support if you have a learning difficulty or disability and offer targeted support depending on your needs.
Course Overview
You will study:
Careers
Enhanced careers support is built into the programme, and you will also take part in work experience or work-related activities.
Achieving further qualifications at Level 2 can enable you to move on to A Levels or Level 3 BTEC qualifications, an apprenticeship or employment. We will provide you with all the support you need to make informed choices about your next steps. Previous Level 2 students have progressed on to A Levels and BTECs in a wide range of subjects including Design, History, Health and Social Care and Criminology.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for our Foundation Studies Programme. We will find the right pathway for you depending on your skills and previous qualifications. For Level 2 study we would normally expect you to have achieved grades 1 – 3 in your GCSEs or already have Level 1 qualifications.
