From Stockton to Geneva

Physics students from Stockton Sixth Form and The Grangefield Academy recently visited CERN in Geneva, the European Centre for Nuclear Research.

Students received a guided tour of several of CERN’s facilities. They were given, during the visit, a rare chance to see what physicists, computer scientists and engineers who work in this field do for a living.

Not only will it support their physics studies but trips like these inspire students to follow careers in science and engineering and, as a bonus, while there we had the chance to explore Geneva, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
