Deputy SENCO, full time, permanent contract

At the Prior Pursglove site in Guisborough, we are seeking to appoint a Teacher with experience of working with secondary school students (11-16) with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH).  You will be based in a dedicated faculty for supported students suffering with anxiety, developing and evaluating SEMH practice in the College, working with the SENCO to oversee the day to day operation of the base.

You will be qualified to teach English, Maths or Science at GCSE level, as well as holding relevant SENCO qualifications.

Experience of working effectively with SEND young people and managing other staff is essential, as is the ability to build relationships with other agencies and maintain efficient and effective recording systems.

Salary:                         Sixth Form Colleges’ Teachers Pay Scale (up to £39,523 per annum) plus a Responsibility Allowance of £1,600 – £3,200 per annum

Learning Support Assistant for SEMH Provision, 26 hours per week, term time only, permanent contract

At the Prior Pursglove site in Guisborough, we are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in our newly formed dedicated facility offering provision for up to fifteen secondary school students (11-16) with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH). 

You will have recent experience of supporting students experiencing acute anxiety, providing both class and independent study support and have an understanding of the needs of, and empathy for, students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.  Strong literacy and numeracy skills are required.

Experience of working effectively with SEND young people alongside other staff is essential, as is the ability to maintain efficient and effective recording systems.

The hours of work will be 8.45 am to 2.45 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.45 am to 2.30 pm on a Friday, with a 45 minute lunch break each day.

Salary:                         SFCA Support Staff Pay Spine, Points 20-23

Actual Starting Salary at scale point 20: £10,808 per annum

Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) – Job Description

Teacher of Foundation Learning, full time, permanent contract

At the Prior Pursglove College site in Guisborough, we are seeking to appoint a highly effective and enthusiastic teacher able to engage, inspire and motivate students studying on Foundation Learning programmes with abilities ranging from pre-entry to Level 3.  The age range of students will span from 16 -18 and adult students, and there may be some outreach work involved.

Displaying flexibility and enthusiasm the successful candidate will be able to deliver a range of courses, with proven experience in some or all of the following subjects; Customer Service, Hospitality, PSD, Employability, Business Administration.  It is essential that you are experienced in assessing, recording and tracking students.

You must have demonstrable high levels of skills in teaching and learning to enable you to deliver a variety of programmes to disengaged and disadvantaged young people and adults. In addition, you will have a proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes at vocational and/or foundation level.

Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working with students from a range of different backgrounds are also essential.

Salary:                         Teachers Pay Spine up to £39,523 per annum, pro rata

Exam Invigilators, casual contracts

We are looking for people to join our team of Exam Invigilators in providing assistance in the day-to-day operation and administration of exams at either the Prior Pursglove or Stockton campus.  This is seasonal work, with the majority of exams taking place during May and June each year.
