This course is a linear two-year programme following the AQA syllabus (7357). You will sit 3 two-hour examinations at the end of the two-year linear course. Students study Core, statistics and mechanics which develop a wide range of problem-solving skills.
Studying Mathematics is a preferred subject for many degree courses, such as Engineering, Computing Medicine, Physics and Economics. It is respected by a vast array of employers globally and is generally regarded as essential for many jobs across industries.
This course will suit those who enjoy exploring complex problems that require independent study. Students who enjoy solving problems will thrive in A level Mathematics. You will develop key skills of logic, analysis construction and generality, alongside a great deal of algebra! Standard entry is grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics. If you fall short of this, come and chat to us and we will consider cases on an individual basis.
Students will be given folders at the start of the course which has a calendared programme of study inside it. Inside this folder, there will be end topic assessments, topic task sheets and a syllabus to review. We also have guest speakers and visits from past alumni.
