This course is ideal for students who are passionate about mental health and wellbeing. Through a combination of theoretical study and hands-on experience, you will build the knowledge and skills needed to progress to higher education in this field.
Year 1 includes an examined unit on Fundamentals of Mental Health and the Individual, covering the key topics relevant to individual mental health and wellbeing.
You will also study two coursework units: Supporting and Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing in Organisations — where you will learn how organisations support employee mental health, monitor workplace wellbeing, and communicate mental health campaigns — and Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing with Outdoor and Creative Activities.
Year 2 includes an examined unit on Mental Health, Wellbeing and Society. You will explore how society is shaped, how perceptions of mental health have changed over time, and what current provision and societal influences look like today.
The final coursework unit is Community-Based Support for Mental Health and Wellbeing, covering social connectedness, social prescribing, and how both can be used to improve lives.
