Introducing Stockton Plus, an esteemed award integrated into your bespoke and personalised study program at SSFC. This comprehensive scheme enriches your college experience by equipping you with essential skills for adulthood and enhancing your employability. Divided into three parts:
The award offers students the opportunity to excel and achieve recognition at three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Here’s a breakdown of what Stockton Plus entails:
Pathway Support
Pathway Support, which replaces our previous tutor programme, is a weekly session where we look at your attendance and academic progress. Alongside this, we will discuss your future progression and topics that will equip you with the skills and knowledge to be a well rounded adult. In these sessions, you will also be set a series of E- Learning activities which you must complete to achieve any award. You will have termly 1:1s with your Pathway Leader who will help you to keep track of your progression through the awards.
Employability & Work Experience
Whilst you are at college, you will have the opportunity to attend a variety of careers events. Some are mandatory and are organised through the Pathway Programme, others are organised through the college’s Careers Team and attendance to these is voluntary, depending on your interests.
Enrichment
During your time at SSFC, you will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities beyond your lessons, which are designed to capture your interest or enhance your life experience. There are many exciting activities on offer. Some will be ‘one off’ opportunities such as foreign exchanges, work experience, charity events or competitions. Others will be ongoing weekly activities such as sport and societies or the Students’ Union. These activities are free, open to all students and, there is no limit on the number of sessions you attend. As well as contributing points to your Stockton Plus award, they are also a good way to meet new friends and will look great on your CV.
There are lots of other benefits of our Enrichment programme. It can help you let off steam and improve your mental health as well as your physical fitness. It can give you the chance to learn something new, contribute to the running of the college, pick up an old hobby, help the local community, make new friends, or just learn to be yourself and have fun.
