Our open events for 2026-27 are ready to book, and the first one is on Wednesday 30 September, 5pm to 8pm.
If you are in Year 11 and working out where to go next September, an open evening tells you more in two hours than any prospectus will. You get to walk the building, sit in the departments you are actually thinking about, and ask the people who would be teaching you what the course is really like.
There is no set start. Come any time between 5pm and 8pm and stay as long as you want to. Our subject specialists will be in their own departments, so you can go straight to the courses you are interested in rather than working through a fixed tour. Bring a parent or carer, bring a friend, or come on your own. All three are normal.

Stockton Sixth Form College has been here since 1971 and is the only specialist sixth form college in Stockton-on-Tees. Ofsted rated us good in December 2024 across every area they looked at.
Book a place and we will email you a ticket straight away with the date, the time, the address and your entry code. Bring it on your phone on the night. If your plans change, book a different date instead. There is no penalty for changing your mind, and no limit on how many of our events you come to.

Stockton Sixth Form College is celebrating a 100% pass rate for BTEC qualifications and a 98% pass rate across A levels, with many of its A level courses achieving 100% passes.
For the third consecutive year, the college, which is part of Atomix Educational Trust, has demonstrated strong outcomes across both academic and vocational programmes.
Building on a three-year trend of improvement, the overall A level pass rate rose to 98%, with the majority of the college’s A level subjects achieving a 100% pass rate.
More than half of all A level results (53.9%) were awarded at A* to C, while BTEC subjects once again achieved a 100% success rate for the second consecutive year.
STEM and science-related subjects continued to deliver positive outcomes, further strengthening the college’s growing reputation in this important area of the curriculum.
Across biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, further mathematics and psychology, strong A* to B outcomes were achieved.
Further mathematics led the way, with 50% of results at A* to B, followed by chemistry at 45.5%, mathematics at 40.7% and biology at 33.3%.
Computer science and psychology also contributed positively to the overall strength of performance across the STEM and science curriculum.
Pass rates were equally encouraging, with biology, computer science and further mathematics each achieving a 100% pass rate.
This was complemented by a further 100% success rate in BTEC engineering, demonstrating positive outcomes across both academic and vocational STEM pathways.
Performance at A* to C was also strong across a number of subjects. Further mathematics achieved 100% at A* to C, while psychology recorded 71.4%, chemistry 63.6% and mathematics 59.3%.
The college’s BTEC provision delivered another exceptional performance, achieving a 100% success rate for the second consecutive year across all BTEC qualification routes.
Across vocational provision as a whole, the overall pass rate reached 99%, with 49% of students achieving high grades.
Health and social care led the way, producing strong results across both pathways, with 94% of diploma outcomes and 80% of extended certificate outcomes achieving high grades.
This high-grade achievement was evident across the wider vocational curriculum, with 63.6% of sport outcomes, 57% of information technology outcomes and 45% of engineering outcomes achieving high grades.
Expanding its vocational curriculum, the college introduced T levels in health (adult nursing) and engineering (manufacturing) at the start of the 2025/26 academic year. The programmes have enjoyed an excellent first year, with 100% of students successfully passing their examinations.
Mike Mackin, head of centre at Stockton Sixth Form College, said: “I am immensely proud of our students and staff for the dedication, resilience and commitment they have shown throughout the year.
“To achieve improving results for a third consecutive year is a significant milestone and a strong reflection of the journey we are on as a college.
“Once again, our A level pass rate has improved, with many subjects achieving a 100% pass rate, while our vocational provision has delivered 100% success across all BTEC programmes for the second consecutive year.”
He added that strong performance across STEM and other key curriculum areas further demonstrated the “quality, breadth and consistency of achievement across the college”.
He said: “Sustaining a 100% BTEC success rate for a second year, alongside strong outcomes across STEM subjects, is a significant achievement.
“It reflects both the commitment of our students and the expertise of our staff in delivering high-quality academic and vocational education that equips young people with the knowledge and skills increasingly valued by employers and the wider economy.
“These results are particularly significant following a year of substantial growth in applications. More young people are choosing Stockton Sixth Form College, and continued improvement in outcomes is central to maintaining that momentum, strengthening confidence in the college and supporting our continued growth.”
Praising the students’ efforts, Mike added that behind every result is an enormous amount of hard work.
“Our students have shown real determination, supported by staff who continue to go above and beyond to help them succeed,” he said.
“I am incredibly proud of the whole team and excited about what we can achieve as we continue to move the college forward.”

Dr Munro added that results day is about “much more than grades”.

Results day is Thursday 13 August 2026. You can collect your results from 8.00am at college.
Come to college from 8.00am on Thursday 13 August. Staff will be waiting to point you in the right direction, so you do not need to worry about where to go.
You will get your grades and a full breakdown of your results. Staff will be there through the morning and are looking forward to celebrating with you.

We are working with Aviation Generation and EmPower Crew, part of EmPower Flight, to develop a CAA approved Cabin Crew Attestation route for students on our Aviation Operations pathway.
Cabin Crew Attestation is what you need to work as cabin crew commercially for a UK airline, and it can only be delivered by a CAA approved training organisation. The plan is to connect it with the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aviation Operations, so eligible students could hold it by the time they finish, or shortly after.
The development work is starting here at Aviation Generation Stockton Sixth Form. Stockton is where the work starts because the Aviation Operations pathway is already running with students, and because of the specialist aviation facilities on campus, including the mock aircraft cabin and the flight simulator.

The work is at development stage, so nothing is confirmed yet. What is delivered will depend on regulatory requirements, facilities, timetabling, commercial agreement and learner readiness. Enrolment begins on 20 August. Your personal date and time slot will be confirmed inside your pack, so simply note it down once it lands. The process is quick and welcoming, and staff will be there throughout to guide you and help with anything you need.

Students and staff recently returned from an extraordinary trip to Peru, where they experienced the perfect combination of cultural discovery, community service, and personal growth.
The journey began on 27th November with an evening departure from the UK. After more than eleven hours in the air, the group landed safely in Bogota before taking their final flight to Cusco. Despite the exhaustion from travelling, the team arrived in good spirits and were greeted with a traditional welcome dinner that offered their first taste of Peruvian hospitality.
The highlight of the trip came when students and staff visited Machu Picchu, the ancient Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains. The breathtaking views and rich history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site left everyone in awe. One member of staff described the experience as looking ‘unreal’ and suggested it was like ‘looking at Curry’s expensive TVs’ – such was the stunning clarity and beauty of the landscape.
Beyond sightseeing, the group embraced meaningful community engagement. Students spent a morning at a local nursery where they painted colourful playground games and refreshed existing artwork. This hands-on project gave them the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the local community whilst developing their practical skills and cultural awareness. The day continued with a pottery class, where students could explore traditional Peruvian crafts and techniques.
Throughout the trip, students also enjoyed recreational activities, including football matches where they could connect with local young people through sport. The group returned home with memories that will last a lifetime, having gained a deeper understanding of Peruvian culture, history, and community life.
